My word this whole coffee thing is going rather slowly. I'm now busying (is that a word?!) with looking around for units and viewing businesses for sale. I'm beginning to like the idea of taking over the running of an established business and then re-investing in one from scratch. Yesterday I went to visit one run by an Austrian- it appealed to my German efficiency- and I can just take over his cakes- they are the same ones I was thinking of making anyhow.....:o)
Spoke to Craig yesterday and re-assured him that I don't hate him for leaving his dog with me and that I totally adore Blue and it's not a burden. So glad he is back next Monday. I miss him.
Anyway this is not the place to get all soppy.
We found out why Kate (the horse I ride) was trying to buck everyone off all the time lately, she has some cuts at the back of her mouth. It's been a bit of a death wish being on her lately, so it's good to know that it's not because she hates us. I mean it ain't good that she's hurt but at least we have found the reason.
Not sure what to do with myself today. I think I may drive to aformentioned Cafe just to see if he is really as busy as he said over lunchtime.

Valuable lessons
Right here is a bit of advice never mix hormones, a young naughty puppy and a boyfriend in Australia. Never under any circustmance tell Boyfriend in Australia about naughtiness of his dog via txt and then-due to hormones- react in a negative way via txt to his "jokes" about the naughty puppy. Why? Because it ends in disaster and a very worried boyfriend thinking you have had an accident or you are about to break up with him.....:o) You have been warned.

Friday
Friday doesn't exactly have the same sense about it when you don't work, but nevertheless it is the end of the week. Always something worth smiling about.
Went and applied to yet another Starbucks store and went into two temping agencies and phoned Office Angels. All with the result that I still don't have any work!!! Oh well.
Also went to see a business for Sale in Chorlton. It is more of a Cafe/Restaurant, not quite my coffee shop plan. But a very good business and fairtrade/vegetarian. Could be worth pondering over.

Organised job hunting
Well yesterday I actually was true to myself and created a database of phone numbers of nearly all of the Starbucks, Caffe Nero and others coffee shop phone numbers. So from the warmth of my home I'm ringing them up to see whether they are recruiting and then going in. It's a trial and error attempt to get a job.
So if anyone needs the phone number for a store come and see me!!!
Also caught up with the lovelyMrs Wenham and girls. She is truly amazing and wonderful. It was a lovely afternoon of seeing people I do love ever so much.

Near Death experiences
Well today has been a day of near accidents. Once this morning, I was nearly run over by a double decker bus!! Not great. And then a parked car just tried to ignore the fact that I was coming down the road and pulled out right in front of me. He couldn't even use the excuse that he can't see my small car, he was in a big white van and I have bright blue car!! Oh well I survived both.
Gas man did phone me in the afternoon- apparently he was meant to be at our house at 11am in the morning and called to re-arrange. I knew nothing of that one.
Also decided, after yet another desperate attempt to get a coffee shop job that I need something more pro-active to do during my days so have signed up with Office Angels to temp. Yes office work, but I need something to do. Focus is still coffee though. Tomorrow it's work on the business plan.....I've promised myself.

A quick note
Just in case anyone is interested- Gas man didn't show on Friday. I left a rather irritated msg on my Landlord's answer machine and got no reply to that either. Let's just hope our boiler or gas cooker doesn't blow up and has no faults. I mean 6 months out of date ain't great.
Beer
Now not being a great fan of beer usually it amuses me that I agreed to go to a pub mainly dedicated to the wonderful world of fancy beer. However I must say once one strays from the usual lager there are nice ones to discover. Caught up with a good friend of mine tonight and it amazes me how many people do care about you and you fail to keep in touch with them or call upon their help in times of trouble. I'm going to try more often to call for help when I need it rather then hide from those who truly care. So thanks Jez I owe ya one.
I'm still no good at keeping this up to date despite the fact that I am at home most of the day and we have broadband.. Why is that?
My theory is that there isn't that much happening in life at the moment to write about. I did see quite a few friends today on random visits. Must do that more often, just call people up and visit them. Much fun.
Still no luck with the coffee shop front. I seem to be overqualifived to pour coffee. Again a mystery of life- surely it is up to you whether you go for a job that you are to qualified for. I'm not qualified enough to even be an assitant manager but overqualified to be a Barista it seems- now that makes no sense. How are you ever to become qualified as a manager if you can't start as a Barista- go figure.

Early mornings

I was up at 5.55am this morning! Can't quite believe it. Went and met Marta and Taff with Blue for an early morning walk in Didsbury. Good fun if a little cold. Blue loved it. (just to clarify Blue is Craig's Staffordshire Bull Terrier)
Interview at Starbucks went well. I do like interviews so much better then application forms or C.Vs I seem to be able to put myself across better face to face then on paper. They said they would be in contact with me over the next few days to either invite me for a second interview or not. The tension mounts... It would be very good if I could start there as a Shift Supervisor.
Here is a picture of the cheeky monkey- Blue.
(now my blog template seems to be very old and I haven't figured out how to place photos exactly where I want them to go....anyone any advice)

Unreliable gas men
Well the table is still standing and being loved. Spoke to Craig today and felt rather sad, he is so far awawy. It would almost be better not to talk to him for three weeks.
I've just tired the dog out. he is asleep on my lap right now so i'm typing this one
handed -i'm quite good at it even if i do say so myself.
The gas man hasn't come again. Apparently he will be coming tomorrow-i'm not holding my breath.
Off now to a recruitment evening at Starbucks- i know working for an evil global company- and yes it's one of my all time dreams of things to do....:o)

Tableware

I hate self assembly furniture!!! We ordered a dining room table from Argos which took 6 weeks to get delivered and then you have to put it together. I did alright but there is always one thing that they forget to explain, like which way round the extendable legs should go....:o) Well it is up now and I am very proud of it. It's a bit wobbly not sure if it will stay up.
Also waiting for the gas man. Should also be printing out my CV but I'm to shattered now from the table scenario. It took me over three hours!!!
Let's hope the gas man comes today. our gas safety test is out of date since July.
Not walked the dog yet, the next thing on the schedule, but obviously I can't leave the house now because then the gas man can't get in.

Mondays
Found it hard to think of something to do today so I went to nearly every starbucks, caffee Neros I could find in the town centre. I gave out another 4 CVs and filled out several application forms. Apparently there is a recruitment evening on Thursday night at one of the Starbucks so I'm going then. What amazes me is the varying advice you get at every store as to the recruiting process. Oh well we'll see what happens. If I have not heard from any of them by Friday I think I have no choice but to go to a recruiting agency to temp. What a horrid thought. I'm truly tired now from walking amongst the crowds. It's amazing how busy Manchester is despite it being Monday morning.

Puppy watching
Not much to write about. My time has been spent playing with Blue the puppy. He is Staffordshire Bull Terrier and completely adorable. But it does feel like there is small child living with us. I've worn him out with walks though so he is totally asleep. I have also created a blog for him. Just for fun. I'm exhausted at the moment. Had a good ride yesterday on Kate. Went to Mothercare to buy a babygate for the kitchen. Yes it's for the dog to keep him in the kitchen. It's working for the first time in a week he hasn't had an accident in the kitchen or living room. Complete miracle.

Long time
How to summarise the last 4 months? I haven't updated this blog due to the fact that I was working in a rather small office in front of a computer all day long and couldn't be bothered to then sit in front of the computer at lunchtime or at home. Not a great excuse but nevermind I'm back. I have now quit my office job and have installed broadband at home. So no excuses :o)
In brief: I'm still with Craig- totally in love with him. There are issues but slowly they are getting sorted. He is in Australia at the moment for a whole month. I'm looking after his little puppy. That's a task and a halve......
Went to Canada for Christmas- Craig came too....
Can't stand living where I do anymore. Far to much crime. In two months we have had a car torched in front of our house, my car was broken into twice in one week, an armed robbery next door and bins set on fire..... What is going on with the world?
God: mmm not sure where I'm at with all of that. Still praying everyday and reading my bible again everyday. But it just doesn't feel real anymore. Hasn't for a long time, and here I am admitting it on the internet..... Hanging on in there because I can't deny what he has done so far in my life.
